2D Scene Setup Artist:
Main Duties & Responsibilities:
- Set up scenes for animation including setting up camera angles and framing shots etc...
- Create required quotas of finished shots per week on professional animated productions;
- Assist in establishing workflows concepts and toolsets for the team;
- Make timely corrections to work when required.
Required Qualifications and Skills:
- Minimum 1 year professional experience;
- Degree in computer science or relevant field;
- Excellent knowledge of directory structures, specific naming conventions, and file management;
- Good knowledge of professional animation processes and terminology;
- Strong ability to problem solve independently;
- Professional camera knowledge and framing awareness;
- Ability to deliver on schedule, working under pressure if required;
- Posing skills and an ability to create well timed reference animation where required;
- Ability to create background or 2D designs is a plus;
- Training/knowledge in Maya and Toonboom is a plus;
- Ability to work as part of a team.
2D Background and Layout Artist
Main Duties & Responsibilities
- Create new designs and follow established designs to create layout according to animatics /reels;
- Create high detailed texture and lighting on BGs;
- Assist in building tracking sheets for scenes and props.
Required Qualifications and Skills:
- Degree in an art-related subject such as Animation, Illustration, Fine Art or Graphic Design;
- A minimum 3 years experience in relevant field;
- Understanding of the 2D animation process, including camera mechanics;
- Understanding of film editing and film structure;
- Working knowledge of relevant software (Photoshop, Illustrator, Painter, Flash);
- Ability to work with a minimum of supervision;
- Ability to deliver on schedule, working under pressure if required;
- Ability to take direction and a willingness to address comments and make changes;
- Ability to work as part of a team.
It will be also be necessary to submit a portfolio demonstrating the following points:
- Excellent and adaptable drawing skills including good understanding of composition and perspective;
- Good use of light and shadow and the ability to create atmosphere;
- Ability to be neat and methodical.
Digital Painter
Main Duties & Responsibilities
A Digital Painter is responsible for adding color to animation scenes, using one of several available programs as per the references provided. The Digital Painter is also responsible for cleaning up the line work on a computer before coloring if necessary.
Required Qualifications and Skills:
- A University or College degree in Art or Animation;
- Working knowledge of programs such as Photoshop and Illustrator;
- Eye for both detail and color;
- Must be methodical and conscientious about follow up;
- Ability to adapt quickly to new Animation programs;
- A solid understand of the Animation process;
- Ability to work as part of a team.
2D Computer Generated Animator /Flash
Main Duties & Responsibilities
Animators work without assistants and do everything relating to their scenes, including plotting the camera moves, editing the soundtrack (if required), charting information on dope sheets and producing a composited version of their work for comments from the Director or Animation Director.
Required Qualifications and Skills:
- Excellent animation, acting and computer skills, combined with a good sense of graphic design.
- Good level of computer literacy;
- Ability to demonstrate an understanding of Advanced Flash including how the library works, if required;
- Strong sense of design with good line quality for Flash;
- A solid understanding of the principles of animation and film-making;
- Ability to edit, if required, on Flash (add VFX, SFX).
- Ability to take direction and a willingness to address comments and make changes;
- Ability to communicate clearly with colleagues and capacity to manage relevant aspects of production;
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team;
- A methodical way of working combined with an appreciation of accuracy and details.
- Ability to deliver on schedule, working under pressure if required;
- Courses or Degree in Animation, Illustration, Graphic design, Film or related fields are considered advantageous.
- Training in 2D drawn animation (Traditional) is an advantage.
You will also be required to show samples of animation, design, acting and timing.
